Nine to ninety

school-camera-025-for-blog.jpg

I had the great pleasure of visiting Mrs Stott’s classroom and meeting her children; Emilia, Connor, Jordan, Fraser and all the others were extremely polite and very friendly.  They made me feel very welcome, and obviously enjoyed all that they were doing.

Many had just changed library books at the mobile library van, which apparently visits fortnightly.

For me, to visit a school (because I had worked with this age range, but very many years ago) and to see how very different things are today - my old school was a happy environment, but seemingly not quite so friendly and relaxed, and of course computers were not at all in use, therefore so much was different  - an important difference was the use of the white board to share information with the whole class so quickly.

Friday,  November 23rd 2007 will be a memorable date for me.

I think this picture is very interesting and funny!!!

I like this picture because its really pretty

It is interesting to think about how much things have changed since I was at Shepeau Stow, compared to the changes my grandma saw since she was at school.

When I was in Class 2 (there were only 3 classes), the library van also came every two weeks and we used a blackboard instead of a whiteboard. I think this was in about 1988, almost 20 years ago! We had one computer in the classroom, but it didnt have a mouse! We used the computer to play games like “Granny’s garden”, but it wasn’t possible to look at a photo on the computer screen, and the internet didn’t really exist then!

I wonder what differences your mums and dads or brothers and sisters can remember about if they used to go to Shepeau Stow?

I bet Mrs Attfield can’t believe the changes in schools and
classrooms! We are so technological nowadays. I wonder when
I’m 90 how will schools be then? When I come back to visit in 60 years
what will children be working with? Maybe there will be robot
teachers!! Let me know what you think life will be like in the
year 2067…..

I liked it when Mrs Stott’s mum came into our class to visit us. She was a very happy lady, and she smiled alot.
I hope that Rosie dog may be our next visitor :-)

We are glad Mrs Attfield had a good time in Mrs Stott’s class. From everyone in Year 2 and 3.
p.s. we would like to meet Rosie dog aswell. What a pet day at school I could bring horse (said Ben)!

Its great to see such lovely work on the website. I think a pet at school day sounds great fun.
